Last week, the City of Atchison unveiled a new welcome sign at the intersection of 10th & Main. Visitors to the city will be greeted by a new 4’x6’ concrete sign, commemorating the new Atchison bridge, and Atchison’s favorite daughter, Amelia Earhart.
In partnership with Westar Energy, and in conjunction with the Amelia Earhart Substation project that Wolf is working on a few blocks away, Wolf was asked to design, fabricate, and install the new display. This was a unique opportunity for Wolf craftsmen to showcase their skills and creativity by creating a public display with such fine detail in an unconventional medium such as concrete. The finished product turned out great and has received praise from the City of Atchison, Westar Energy, and the public.
While we are not widely known for it, decorative construction is just another piece of our diverse toolkit. While we are known for the heavier stuff like pouring concrete, setting steel, and moving earth, the finer, more artistic projects are approached with the same level of detail and craftsmanship that Wolf brings to every project. We have some truly talented craftsmen and artists. Regardless what the project is, we strive to produce the best quality product for our clients. We hope that the people of Atchison enjoy and are as proud of their new sign as we are.
